Botero Priest

These Botero Priest Puzzles are made in Colombia by hand following an art form called intarsia. Intarsia woodworking is the technique of creating a mosaic-like picture from pieces of wood. The Colombian artisans create these pieces using inlay and ornamental parts made with a fretsaw as well as hand carving.
Each assembly is cut and carved to make a unique design. Many of the pieces come constructed like puzzles to allow for fun interaction and therapeutic relief.
Every piece is made from repurposed wood that comes from recycled material discarded from various industries. The colors and dyes are organic, the finishing of the pieces is done with wax, all to make a 100% natural craft without harming the environment.
